Events Team (NEW)
The events team is mainly responsible for organizing events for our members and helping other teams (e.g. member relations team and journal team) to organize events. Due to COVID, most events right now are going to be online. Some potential events include panels, lectures, and socials.
Positions available: Events co-chairs (2 positions available), team members (4-5 positions available)
Requirements:
Superb communication skills (both internally and externally)
Superb writing skills
Attention to detail but also able to grasp the bigger picture
Experience organizing events
Interest in US-China relations, passion for community building
Design skills and media expertise a plus
Fluency in both Chinese and English a plus.
Potential Responsibilities:
Initiate and organize panel events (e.g. inviting professionals in different fields to speak about their experiences, students of different majors to engage in conversation, or scholars to speak)
Organize social events for members
Come up with your own ideas in terms of events that are of use to our general audience and are able to connect more people (also helping us attract more members)
(Post-pandemic) Organize in person social events (e.g. in Beijing or Boston)
Support other teams with event organization (e.g. IUCJ journal launch event, art exhibition openings)
