Nicolas is a graduate of the Duke University Class of 2020, with a dual degree in Economics and Asian & Middle Eastern Studies, Chinese Concentration. Upon graduating, Nicolas has continued to pursue his keen interest in U.S.-China affairs and hopes to grow his understanding of what is potentially the most important bilateral relationship of the 21st century. He is particularly interested in U.S.-China trade relations and U.S.-China cooperation on environmental sustainability affairs.

While at Duke, Nicolas was the Vice-President of Campus Engagement for the Latin American Student Association, where he was tasked with managing all of the organization’s cultural and academic interest affairs. Nicolas was also a team member for Duke Desarrolla, an organization which partnered with clients in Latin America to devise long-term solutions to the region’s outstanding problems.

Additionally, Nicolas has spent significant time studying the Chinese language. Beginning in the first semester of his first year at Duke, Nicolas continued to pursue his interest in the language by attending Duke Study in China for the summers of 2017 and 2018, as well as participating in the Boston University in Shanghai program.

Nicolas also has work experience in China, having performed an internship with Beijing-based AppInChina, a start-up company that aimed to streamline license applications foreign companies’ mobile applications. Nicolas also was an intern with Shanghai-based Yitang Data, where he obtained significant experience translating business and legal documents from Chinese to English.

柯安同于2020年从杜克大学毕业，本科主修为经济学、亚洲与中东研究。他目前于清华 - 卡内基全球政策中心的宣传部担任实习生职位。本科时，柯安同担任过拉丁美洲学生组织文化事务副主席，并参与过杜克本科生在拉丁美洲实行有关经济与社会的发展项目。之所以柯安同对于跨文化交流与外语学习持热爱的态度，是因为其在世界各地旅居的经验。柯安同童年时期在英国、西班牙与美国居住，并获得在北京和上海进行中文和中国文化学习的机会。他希望通过 UCBRC 的采访与播客项目推广各种关于中美关系的话题，激起中美两国年轻人针对中美关系的兴趣。
