Treasurer (US-based position available)

Requirements:

  • Superb communication skills.

  • Experience in accounting, auditing, and/or bookkeeping. Treasurer role in a past organization is a plus. 

  • Strong ethics and care for getting things right (very important). 

  • Superb presentation and reporting skills that can help executive members, the board, and others understand the organization's financial status, having strong ppt and excel skills is a plus.

  • Majors in finance/related fields and coursework or internship work in financial accounting or managerial accounting is a plus.

  • Fluency in both Chinese and English is a plus. Fluency in English is required. 

Potential Responsibilities:

  • Manage the bank account, budget for future expenses, manage current expenses, and reconcile bank statements.

  • Work with teams in the organization to efficiently and transparently allocate funding across different projects. 

  • Prepare informal financial reports for the board’s review at every board meeting, and have a constant understanding of financial aspects of the organization. 

  • Initiate simple auditing policies and transparency policies to mitigate conflicts of interest, transparently report some of the organization’s financial activity, and triple check for any bad judgements or misuses of funds. 

  • Prepare necessary reports for our annual IRS filing. 

  • Work with the sponsorship team on managing sponsorship funds and transparently ensure that any specially designated funds go to the correct specially designated places.
